48 Fun Activities for Couples

At the beginning of a relationship, it is usually easy to find things to do as a couple. In this phase of a relationship we like to show our best face and are more inclined to get out of our comfort zone and try all sorts of activities to impress each other. It is often at this stage of the relationship that partners show the most creativity in terms of activities to do together, but once the seduction phase is over and we start taking the other person for granted, routine can start to set in.

Not everything routine is bad – it can be reassuring at times – but the more time passes, the more urgent it becomes to break certain routines that no longer suit us. Nature is like that; what we liked at one time or another may not necessarily please us months or even years later. However, some very creative people regularly manage to find new activities to do as a couple to keep their relationship fresh. If you are one of these people, you may just want to stimulate your creativity even more by reading this article, but if you are struggling for ideas, you’ve definitely come to the right place.

Here are 48 activities to do as a couple to help you and your partner become happier and more fulfilled.

Fun Activities for Couples at home

2. Watch a good movie

There’s a lot of pleasure in watching a good movie together. If you don’t have the same taste in movies, take turns choosing the movie or find a movie that you both like enough. Then all you have to do is make yourself comfortable on the sofa or in bed. And just like the cinema, no cellphones, and if you’re watching in bed… watch out popcorn crumbs.

3. Watch a TV series together

There’s a ton of excellent TV series on Netflix, Amazon or any of the other streaming channels. Watch the synopsis or trailer and pick out any one you like. Instead of binge-watching the whole 20 episodes in a weekend, why not turn this into a regular routine for an otherwise quiet weekday. The only rule is to only watch this series with your partner. It would be a shame if one of you gets ahead in the episodes and doesn’t want to watch the previous episodes with the other. Apart from this one rule, all that’s required is to enjoy each other’s company and snuggle up to watch.

4. Invite friends to dinner

Although it’s great to do things together, invite your friends from time to time over for a good meal and a bottle of wine. Eating well, drinking well, chatting, laughing, making the world with your friends is so much fun so why deprive yourself of it. And, if you’re worried that your cooking is not up to scratch, don’t fret, order a take-out – this will work just as well.

5. Watching the sunset together

eW all know just how romantic, inspiring and utterly Instagram-able they can be, but most of us only make time for sunsets when we’re on vacation. Pick a quiet spot and watch the sun go down and even look at the stars after dark. “Experiences of awe bring people into the present moment,” pleasure guaranteed!

6. Massaging each other

Massage is an incredibly enjoyable activity for a couple. You can massage your partner simply to help them relax or to share a naughty moment together. To make the experience more intense, put small candles in the room and use scented massage oil. Or, consider taking it your massage to the next level and take a couple of massage classes; you’ll get the double benefits of doing something together and can look forward to better massages and that amazing muscle release.

Couples are gaming together without straining their relationships, so play a game of video games with your better half. Plan your next holiday with your partner. Probe each other on your desires, where you want to go, what you want to do, and what you want to wear when you get there!
